Developed and operated by Genting New York, this property is now known as Resorts World Casino New York City and the project undertaking involved the construction and implementation of a VLT (Video Terminal Lottery) facility and was part of a fast-track revitalization project. Our scope of work included civil/site engineering design, traffic analysis, MPT and Construction Staging, and an internal parking analysis for space covering approximately 68 acres of the overall 189 acres of the project site.
Specific requirements involved:
- Traffic analysis
- Internal circulation study, including parking garage entrance/exit operations, as well as access management; and data collection
- Roadway improvements and traffic signal design including new roadway design/roadway widening; guide rails and medians; Environmental Assessment Statement (EAS); watershed analysis; storm and sanitary sewers: sewer connections, water mains grading and drainage; sidewalks; pavement marking; signage; site lighting; landscape/streetscape design; roadway geometric design; pedestrian crossing; MPT; and wayfinding signs.
- Pedestrian bridge
Work also involved coordinating with several agencies, including the NYCDOT; MTA to define the stairway and platform limits from the “A” train connection to the casino’s pedestrian bridge; NYCDEP; FDNY; PANYNJ; and other private utility companies, as well as construction administration.
