Gedeon GRC is looking for a Junior Traffic Engineer.
Under general supervision, the candidate will perform professional traffic engineering work of moderate difficulty and importance relating to traffic engineering.
Responsibilities to include, but not limited to:
- Collect data and manage data collection programs
- Perform capacity analysis, operational analysis, speed study, accident analysis, and feasibility study
- Review and assist with the preparation of traffic studies and analysis
- Prepare planning and design reports
- Prepare traffic engineering plans using AutoCAD
- Perform related work as required
Required Skills
The successful candidate will have the following:
- M.S. in Transportation/Traffic Engineering from an accredited university.
- 1-2 years of experience in the fields of traffic planning & design.
- Excellent interpersonal, analytical and communication skills.
Preferred qualifications and skills:
- Familiar with traffic engineering software, such as HCS and Synchro.
- Familiar with the MUTCD, HCM, AASHTO, ITE guidelines, ADA Accessibility
- Experience with AutoCAD, AutoTURN and GuideSIGN. Microstation, and GIS, a plus.
- Experience and/or ability to perform field work, including site inventories and/or traffic data collection.
- Experience with site trip generation, operational analysis of intersections and roadways, crash and safety analyses, speed studies, signal design, and/or signing and striping layout and design.
- Experience developing bid packages, including plans, construction cost estimates, and technical specifications.
- EIT certification or eligibility to sit for the EIT exam.
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
