Network-controlled lighting shines a light on green energy

Advanced lighting control or network-controlled lighting is on the cusp of starting to grow and take hold in the market. Wireless technology has become a game changer in the world of network controls. Advanced lighting control utilizes fixtures that can be either wired or remotely controlled via a switch in the room, a computer interface or an app on a cell phone. In addition to increased energy efficiency, offices and warehouses can track fixtures and see where bulbs need to be replaced. Systems can also be merged with building automation systems to determine where energy is being wasted. Another interested advance is the ability to set up different scenes for multi-use spaces from conference rooms to classrooms. Several scenes can be created and stored for later use, avoiding the need to reprogram lighting.
