Maryland City Plans Incentives for Green Developers

 

Members of a local board of officials in Frederick, Maryland are considering an amendment to a city ordinance that would allow some developers to pay reduced water and sewer allocation impact fees based on projected usage. Currently, developers are charged impact fees based on how much water and sewer capacity their projects are expected to use, but new green, sustainable building projects were being charged more. The amendment would give developers the ability to request a specified amount of capacity per unit that is less than 175 gallons if the developer meets three levels of criteria.
