Gedeon GRC Welcomes Jocelyn Damis PE

Gedeon GRC Consulting is pleased to announce Mr. Jocelyn Damis, PE, our recent addition to the Construction Inspection/Management Department as Resident Engineer.

From 1997 to 2015, Mr. Damis served as Deputy Director for the NYC Department of Design and Construction’s (NYCDDC) Infrastructure Division — Queens & Brooklyn. His responsibilities included managing several capital projects to ensure execution on time and within budget. Prior to joining our firm, he was at the HNTB Corporation.

Mr. Damis has over 37 years of design, construction, and project management experience. Throughout his career, he has closely worked with numerous local, state and federal agencies including: NYCDOT,  NYCDEP, NYCDPR, NYCEDC, NYSDOT, and FEMA, where he has supervised projects of varying complexities — some of which have involved street reconstruction, major sewers, trunk/distribution water main installations, new outfall structures for high-level storm sewers, plazas, safe routes, sidewalks, complex pedestrian ramps, pavement, utilities, step streets, retaining walls, and new Sustainable/Green Infrastructure (including Right of Way Bioswales, Rain Gardens, Stormwater Greenstreets, etc.).

His most recent projects include: the rehabilitation of pedestrian ramps in Queens, Owl’s Head connector section of the Brooklyn waterfront greenway, and the installation of trunk water mains and sewers in the Beach 94th Street area of Queens.

Mr. Damis holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from The City College of New York and is a licensed Professional Engineer in New York and Delaware.
