Bridge Painting Inspector

We are looking for a bridge painting inspector NICET III or NACE II certified. The inspector should have NACE II certification and bridge painting experience.  He/she must be a NACE Inspector with a consultant, not QA/QC with the contractor.

This project includes Construction Inspection services for a Bridge Painting Contract in Suffolk County, Long Island, NY. This contract will include total removal and painting of of bridge and minor steel repairs to prevent rusting and deterioration of the steel structures in Suffolk County, NY. The proposed project will help maintain bridge reliability and integrity to assure the continued safety of the traveling public. The project proposes to paint the bridges to prevent rusting and ensure that the bridges remain safe for travel. This type of corrective maintenance will help extend the service life of the bridges and prevent some larger scale corrective maintenance work in the future. The project will utilize a combination of day and nighttime construction.

The painting related operations must have received specific, relevant training in corrosion, surface preparation, painting, lead abatement, health and safety issues, environmental control and waste disposal procedures. National Association of Corrosion Engineers (NACE), Steel Structures Painting Council (SSPC) and similarly recognized professional training will be the basis for evaluation of training and experience.
Painting inspectors should have successfully completed one or more of the following courses:
1) NACE Coating Inspector Program (CIP) Level 2
2) SSPC C-1 Fundamentals of Protective Coatings For Industrial Structures
3) NHI Bridge Coatings Inspector Course # 130079A

Inspectors may be required to work nights and weekends.
